Perspective or "Per spectrum"

The word PERSPECTIVE has his provenance from the "latein" word "Per spectrum" (engl; for the observer / public or SPECTATOR - even public as viewer) . And this little word was the these for my diplom work at the academy of fine arts in Sarajevo.

The painting on the right side is not from this period. It is a painting I just started and it is a WORK IN PROGRESS - or we could say this work has his perspective to be finished. Today we could say that this work is Picasso - like, or we could treat it like shit and like what the hoi polloi love to say about contemporary art :"...it is like the fairytale from Hans Christian Anderson The Emperor's New Clothes...", but today you are free to think and to say what you think - so I am also free to make every kind of art I want.

Or?

The people have depand of region where they live different point of view, diverse culture and also variable understanding of "what is good, what is beautyful - even what is art". We could say depand where one art-work is made and WHEN it will become a symbol for so many several points of view!

Imagine that Michelangelo has made his David (the great symbol of the indipendent Florence - the emblem for a Staate, the tag for an epoche) not on the beginning of the 16th century. What for would David implies if Michelangelo has made him 500 years later like some scenography sculpture for the movie Sin City? Would David be the same symbol if he would be a god sculpture in the city of Gomorrah in the period of Noah when : "For the sins of their inhabitants Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim were destroyed by "brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven"...? Would it be the emblem of a revolution, of beeing proud, of freedom and indipendens? Probably the perspective of this work would change like the meaning of all my works change from day to day, from minute to minute, from moment to moment - or should I say from happening to happening. Do you think a video-art with a bird has the same meaning 10 years ago like today or few months ago when the bird-flow was really actual?

*I will publish my diplom work with more comperations between Michelangelo, Picasso, new new world and myself on my new website before the 10th.03.2007

Indian blues

I just finished this painting "Indian blues" and I want to rewrite down what I felt during the working progress and why I made this autoportrait of me :

The airport terminal B72 somwhere in the southern France was waiting for me, the wind blows strong, the train-station is closed and I have to stay few nights in Marseille. I was searching for some free rooms in the high season, but my views were like dismal outlook.
So I took a look around, see which way the wind blow and I know it is not the way to the girls in their bungalows :)

Than I saw her...
I see her hair is burnin' and the hills are filled with fire. I never saw a woman like her, fill with pain and desire..

So I took the ride, the wild fire in her desire, I felt the rising, the emotion so amazing, the monitor lizard on my back and her cold hand on my neck. The next few days I stayed at her place and the only thing I saw was her face. I have never know her name or where she is from! She could be
a lucky little lady in The City of Light, she could be my futured Bright, she could, but I just took a powder and than I was gone. She lagged somewhere behind without knowing my name or where I was from, even where I will go. One second during this time I felt that I never saw a woman like her, fill with pain and desire with the hair burnin' and the hills filled with fire and in this second I just looked like on my painting called "Indian blues" staying in front of her and I am sure that she just saw me like this when she looked at me staying there in her room.

*Indian blues" will be one of few paintings in mixed media on the theme "the risin` days before Avignon 2005"

Conceptual POST translated by Systran 5

Like on this photo (my first conceptual minimalism land art work) the post here will be written in german than translated in english from the translation software Systran 5 and I will use the normal language without too complicated sentences but also not to easy and small combinations. (All errors and wrong translation will not be corrected)

"This first work of art in this form is not to state anything on the first view. In later view it goes around a two-dimensional form from the background stands out. So that a new dimension creates. Both with the coloured organization and with differentiated the surface. Whether I ignore now after this experiment to land kind, I do not believe. Which however are not called is which I now never work of art in this direction will create. It made very large fun, but except the photos nothing is remaining of the work of art. Those much snaps perishability lets itself nevertheless certainly still with different construction units out-hesitate."

translated by Systran 5 - not bad but very interesting experience, too

The LAST and the FINAL work

A shy friend of mine from Tokyo comment my blog very nicely (THANK YOU T.) but via e-mail and not in the comment area, so for my last work from the cycles "The woods of Bosnia" and the big final work I made today I just wanted to paste her words.

"Anyway I still have impression that your best material should be stone and we can feel a piece of YOU from stone sculptures best - I haven't seen you making artworks in front of me, but I think I can imagine with NO difficulty you making sculptures, but imagine you painting with a bit of other thoughts (worldly thoughts). It's really beautiful and touching to see an artist (or anybody maybe) making works or artworks instinctively or without any thoughts, maybe like Michelangelo who didn't MAKE sculptures but just freed a figure out of a mass of stone..."

On the left side is the last work of my cycle and right is the final work with some details and again the last work (in the right corner). The final work is called "between the borders" and it is the apsolute derived knowledge and experience that I collected during the period of growing with my art-works and I learned to treasure it and to integrate it in my life. I have start to close some circles and the final work is the "resume" and the road section from the beginning to the end of the last cycle "The woods of Bosnia".

I buy a piece of paradise and you buy a piece of me

Art versus commercial does not exist!

This week I have break my record – time in painting, yesterday I painted around 14h in one piece and it was like a little bit a trip. Yesterday I have made 7 painting in mixed media for bosnian people. The theme I choose are some buildings and exteriers from Bosna i Hercegovina. Only the last one with the elephants is a little bit more artisric – but WHY I AM DOING COMMERCIAL ART WORKS???

The answer is simple: When you live in a country with less standart and people pay for paintings around 100 – 200 euro, you have to make commercial art works. I do also not-commercial art works, but these works are then around 200 - 500 euro for a graphic (10 x 13,5 cm). For sculptures not less than 500 euro. But people here cannot pay this – the most people here work for 300 euro a month. So I have to make commercial art works to get money for the material to make not-commercial art works, but still in every work I integrate a piece of me and my art.

The dimension for this works are between 38 x 45 cm to 80 x 42 the longest one. The working period for this 8 works is one week, the material for every painting is between 40 – 100 euro (incl. the frame).

In the woods of Bosnia

One sculpture left. The “ash-girl” or “Mea culpa!” is the 11th sculpture in the cycle “in the woods of Bosnia” that I finished today. Every sculpture symbolize also a month in the 12 months cycle. Here is a photo from the “Mea culpa!” and an other one with all 11 sculptures.

All sculptures from this period are made with the same technique and with the same tools. And during this time I read “the notes from Leonardo da Vinci” and what the “Maestors said about art” from A.Gruber & A.Sidorova.

There they collected parts from different notes, letters and writings from a lot of artist from the period around 1500-1600 like what wrote Michelangelo to the pope or what thought Rafaello about Wall painting. And now I can say that this books has some influence in my work especially during the progress of this cycle.

But the inspiration was Jim Morrison and the doors!!!

cycle "in the woods of Bosnia"

The stockade place where my cycle is right now.

Close in the brain, prisoner of my own heart, hold in one body, hatched in bones with feeling and wish this painfully wish to touch the sun just once. My fatherland was the heaven, the paradise was in the mothers secured castle – the stomach. And now, naked – without weapons, close in this one mind, in this one brain with the dream of being two, with the dream of receiving back the heaven – the security – the freedom we have lost, the life we have received. And once when we give up the life (or when we lose it – or when the life give up us) we will be free again in this circle of being what we are – pure energy, light and dark, move and bee, two become one, one become ten thousand to be one again. This is the story of my sculpture cycles “in the woods of Bosnia” and the next two artworks are “the L.A. Woman” and “close in love”. Very soon I will finish my cycle of wooden sculptures.

L.A. Woman

During making this sculpture I ve listen to the doors - the song L.A. Woman - that is why the name of the sculpture is L.A. Woman and I ve make (draw with some machines) a face with a microphone (It is not a penis!!!). The thematic is mostly different, but I am sure that the last sculpture in this cycle will be again a face!

Very important information

The link "http://dzennan.4000webs.com" also known as "my homepage" is sometimes active, but the most time they have problems. So my homepage and the most "read more" links / pages will move with it in the next few weeks latest. I am sorry but it cannot keep going on like this. The bad quality of 150m (my first homepage) and 4000webs (my last homepage) makes me searching for paying sites that will not longer make problems like inactivity :(

I wish you all a very great NEW 2007 !

Brilliant mind o7

Leonardo da Vinci was a great man, a very good artist, a brilliant engineer, but he was also a man with very strange way of thinking. Why I am writing about Leonardo da Vinci? Am I comparing myself with him?

I am writing about him because I just read again his notebooks, witch he kept like daily notes, where he wrote a lot of interesting things but also a lot of very strange ideas. And no I do not compare myself with death people, even if this people were genies.

In his notes he has some points about the different between a sculptor and a painter. And there is very often the question who is better? The sculptor or the painter? I would really like to know where they found so many arguments pro and contra and WHY?

Here an example:

- the sculpture is better because it s more strong and it is not so fragile like a painting. The answer is simple: it is because of the material not because of the artist. The sculpture is more difficult because if you make a fault in stone you cannot repair it (repaint it) like in paintings. The response is that a good artist does not make faults and if he makes damages to his sculpture the error is in his head and this you really cannot repair very easy but it is not a question of who is better... and they continued like this over 12 pages.

But why and what I want to reveal with my text?

First I am very happy that I am not born in the XVI century, because I would be burned with my ideology. Second why should I compare sculpture with painting? If you are really a good artist you will maybe paint over your sculpture or you will modulate your frame to complete your painting.Or you will do both. Also the rules for one of this discipline is different than the other - it is like sport to compare basketball with ice-hokey, why should we do this - if you are a multitalented you are good in both or you will make one than after 20 years the second or just one, but why the humans have always this need to compare things?

• How was it before 20 years - better, bad?

• Who is smarter - female vs. male?

• What is better - chocolate or vanilla?

Why? First before 20 years it was different and for some people better, for others very bad, still we live today!!! Second, hey I am smarter than 20 000 women, but there are other 20 000 smarter than me and why should I care how smart 40 000 women are that I don't know??? And I prefer vanilla and it is just a question of taste and nothing else. We love to make our lives complicated and so the philosophy and the artist have to become very confusing parts of our live.
And what I want to reveal or say with the part about Leonardo?

I am sure that he just want to practice his left hand writing like I do and sometimes your concentration is so focused on the writing with the other hand that you just write thing about anything that has nerve you in your live. Once I wrote: "Design and performance are not art. Performance is just a moment not good enough for theater and design is just technique and no art", but I do not think like this. I do by myself sometime design and I every time realized how great some people design their stuff and that I have to learn a lot of about it - the question is not how to make it, it is about the place where to put some elements and the combination of layers and color. Than there was also performance. I know some very interesting performance artist - very young but I think that this 2 mans could and will be some days in our history books if they continued with the same quality like until today. One is Ervin Babic from Croatia / Dubrovnik (living at the moment in Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina ) and the other is Milan Tutunovic from Serbia / Belgrade (living at the moment in Montpellier in France ). Guys I wish you the best and keep going on - I believe in you.

And Leonardo -I am sorry but an artist that really ask himself what is better - sculpture or painting… I just can say 2 people are 2 different worlds!
